Walk for the Cure 2020 - French Vosges

The Walk for the Cure is a 3day-hike, region French Vosges.
Participate for free, collect at least 300 € funds.

Challenge

The Walk for the Cure is A 3day-hike for the benefit of Think Pink! The énd edition will be on 31.07.19 - 01&02.08.2020.
Every day of this 3day-adventure, you'll discover a new part of the French Vosges.

Day 1 - 19km: Start and finish at Auberge du Huss on the main road of the Vosges, the Route des Crêtes. This stage will lead you trough the magnific valley of the Hohneck.
Day 2 - 16km/42km: Start in the centre of Le Markstein (1183m) at hotel Wolf. You'll finish at the highest point of the Vosges: The Grand Ballon. A shuttle takes you back to the start in Le Markstein.
Day 3 - 24km: Start and finish at the cosy Auberge du Steinlebach in Le Markstein. The last stage brings you in the valley of Kruth with a breathtaking view on the Petit and Grand Ventron.

After the last stage, every finishers receives a finishers shirt, a finishers medal and a pasta at the Auberge du Steinlebach.

• 08.00: Start stage 1 - 19km
• 15.00: End day 1

Saturday 01.08.2020
• 08.00: Start stage 2 - 42km (long distance)
• 11.00: Start stage 2 - 16km (short distance)
• 21.00: End day 2
• 21.10: Departure last shuttle to Le Markstein.

Sunday 02.08.2020
• 08.00: Start stage 3 - 24km
• 11.30 - 16.00: Pasta Party!
• 16.30: End Walk For The Cure

There are different startlocations for the Walk for the Cure. Take a look in the tab "Parcours" for the different startlocation.

Course

Don't forget to wear the right shoes, you'll need a minimum of grip!

DAY 1: 19 km - 1110 m+
• Start at 08h00.
• Start is at Auberge du Huss on the Route des Crêtes.
• 1 aid station during te race at Auberge du Kastelberg (after 8km) + final aid station for every participant.
• Cut-off: 15h00
• There are NO plastic cups at the aid stations. Each runner has to carry his/her own cup or drinking system.

DAY 2: Option 1 = 16 km - 850 m+
• Start at 11h00.
• Start is at Hotel Wolf in Le Markstein.
• Finish is at the Grand Ballon at restaurant "La Vue des Alpes". The shuttle brings you back to the start in Le Markstein.
• 1 aid station at Auberge du Mehrbachel (after 7,5km + final aid station.
• Cut-off: 21h00
• There are NO plastic cups at the aid stations. Each runner has to carry his/her own cup or drinking system.

DAY 2: Option 2 = 42 km - 1950 m+
• Start at 08h00.
• Start is at Hotel Wolf in Le Markstein.
• Finish is at the Grand Ballon at restaurant "La Vue des Alpes". The shuttle brings you back to the start in Le Markstein.
• 3 aid station (after 15km, 25km and 35km) + final aid station.
- Aid station 1 after 15km - Auberge du Huss
- Aid station 2 after 25km - Auberge du Steinlebach
- Aid station 3 after 35km - Auberge du Mehrbachel
• Cut-off: 21h00
• There are NO plastic cups at the aid stations. Each runner has to carry his/her own cup or drinking system.

DAY 3: 24 km - 1050 m+
• Start at 08h00.
• Start is at Auberge du Steinlebach in Le Markstein.
• 1 aid station during te race at Auberge du Huss (after 15km) + final aid station for every participant.
• Cut-off: 16h00
• There are NO plastic cups at the aid stations. Each runner has to carry his/her own cup or drinking system.

How to participate?

You can participate individually or as part of a team. Teams are formed from 2 people, with no limit of people per group. Team members can stay together, with no obligation. You can try to finish this sporting challenge together!

This year, it is possible to participate in the "Walk for the Cure" and support, at the same time, Think Pink in the fight against breast cancer.

To make this happen you can register via our website. You do not have to pay a registration fee to participate at the event, we take care for you about everything. In return, you agree, as a participant, to collect at least 300 €. The funds will be paid directly to the SMART Fund. Through this Fund, Think Pink supports scientific research in screening, treatment and post-breast cancer care. You will receive a personal page on our website, lots of tips and you can also order Think Pink gadgets to sell and collect funds.
